Hi, I’m Meredith with Gator Metal Roofing, and today we’re talking with Mr. LaPorta about his recent upgrade to a metal roof. All right, Mr. LaPorta, so what made you choose Gator Metal Roofing?
Mr. LaPorta (00:11):
Well, it was the price plus the material, quality of the material, and the length of time it took to do the job.
Meredith (00:18):
And what was the installation process like for you?
Mr. LaPorta (00:21):
The installation took less than a day, and they did exactly what they said. They would come out, put the material down, and be out a day to put the material on the roof and be out of here that same day. And they did exactly that.
Meredith (00:36):
Great. That’s great. So how long did it take between the process for actually signing your contract to the installation?
Mr. LaPorta (00:43):
Less than a week. I think it was approximately four days. I’m not quite sure, but it was less than a week. I do know that.
Meredith (00:51):
I know it was pretty recent, but if you could go back to before you started the process of switching to a new roof, what advice would you give yourself?
Mr. LaPorta (00:59):
Well, I’ve often heard about the metal roofs are more efficient in the wintertime and also efficient in the summertime. So to save money on electric, that was one of the things that we looked at.
Meredith (01:16):
And how long did you say you’ve lived in this house for?
Mr. LaPorta (01:19):
Six, seven years.
Meredith (01:20):
And what kind of roof did you have before?
Mr. LaPorta (01:23):
Shingle roof, and it was very poor quality, I guess, because it was already starting to lose shingles.
Meredith (01:29):
Oh, so what made you decide to switch to a metal roof from a shingle roof?
Mr. LaPorta (01:34):
The quality on the metal roof was a lifetime. And as old as I am, I won’t be here that long. And the shingle roof could be here today and gone tomorrow. If you just put it on today, it could be gone tomorrow. So we went with Metal Roof.
Meredith (01:53):
And if you had any advice to give to somebody else who’s shopping for a new roof, what would you give them?
Mr. LaPorta (01:58):
Go with the company. They’re very upfront with everything and they do what they say they’re going to do and they’re done within a day. They clean up their mess and gone.
Meredith (02:11):
What is it about gator metal roofs that help you feel more comfortable in securing your new roof?
Mr. LaPorta (02:16):
Well, it’s a lifetime guarantee, and then I could pass that guarantee on to the next owner. I though that was a very, very good choice, and that’s what convinced me to go more so with metal roof other than hearing all the good things about metal roofing. And five years, that roof will look just as good now as it will then. So I’m happy with that.
Meredith (02:39):
Oh yeah. Will your next owners be family or?
Mr. LaPorta (02:42):
Probably so, yes.

Exactly, yes.
